## Prioritise natural-speed listening

Once the basics are in place, move from slowed audio to natural-speed listening. The test will not wait, so train your ear to hear common patterns at realistic pace. Drill minimal pairs that are easy to confuse, and revisit clips until you can identify the information that changes the answer.

## Read for information, not every character

Learn to recognise function words and common sentence frames quickly. This makes it easier to locate an answer without translating every character. Use short practical texts--signs, notices, and simple messages--to practise finding a specific piece of information under time pressure.

## Make practice diagnostic

After each short checkpoint, name the reason for every mistake. Was it a vocabulary gap, a missed number or counter, a kanji-recognition issue, or a sentence-length problem? A clear diagnosis turns one missed item into a useful study decision for the next session.

## Prepare for the day itself

Sleep and test-day logistics matter as much as grammar. Check your centre's requirements, make sure you know the route, and arrive with margin time. A calm, familiar routine leaves more attention for the listening and reading tasks in front of you.
